Improved PTSA enhances solvent-vapor recovery. (Chementator).

Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co. (MES; Tokyo; mes.co.jp) has developed a new solvent-recovery system using pressure- and temperature-swing adsorption (PTSA) technology. Conventional TSA cannot be used with water-soluble solvents, and is only able to recover low concentrations of organic solvents. TSA also consumes large volumes of expensive inert gas, or operates at lower heating efficiency by using a heat exchanger. Conventional PSA methods also suffer from lower concentration of recovered solvent, and problems with adsorption or desorption due to lower-heat exchanging efficiency.
