NSW:Natural disaster declared for Bland Shire
SYDNEY, Dec 20 AAP - Disaster assistance has been extended to another NSW shire council
affected by serious flooding last month.
NSW Emergency Services Michael Gallacher made a natural disaster declaration on Tuesday
for the Bland Shire in central western NSW.
There are now 16 declarations for shires struggling to rebuild after heavy rains in November.
"Some communities have suffered extensive damage to their homes, businesses, roads
and infrastructure from the severe weather and this will provide them with some reprieve
to get back on track," Mr Gallacher said in a statement.
He said the summer was expected to be wet and the state government would be monitoring
activity across the state.
