NSW: Prison guard bowed to pressure over importing contraband
A New South Wales prison officer has admitted to a corruption inquiry that he smuggledmobile phones and drugs into Goulburn jail.
CALE DAVID UROSEVIC has told the Independent Commission Against Corruption that hebowed to pressure from a powerful prisoner at the high risk management unit at Goulburn,in the state's south.
The corrections officer -- who's currently on suspension -- has told the hearing hereceived $8,000 payment for smuggling the goods in on two occasions earlier this year.
During evidence today, UROSEVIC said he felt intimidated and was nervous of the repercussionsif he failed to comply with the request.
The hearing before ICAC Commissioner IRENE MOSS continues this afternoon.
